Punakaiki Beachfront Motels Terms and Conditions

Punakaiki Beachfront Motels Limited trading as Punakaiki Beachfront Motels.

Payment Policy

All rates are quoted in $NZ on a per night basis and include 15% GST (goods and services tax). All accounts must be settled upon arrival in $NZ upon check in.

The prices indicated are per room, for two (2) guests and date(s) selected, unless otherwise stated.

All reservations require a valid credit card guarantee at the time of booking. Your credit card details are for the confirmation of your booking only.

Payment is due on arrival unless other arrangements have been made or the booking falls under our Group Booking Policy (refer to the Group Policy section below). 

Cancellation and ‘No-Show’ Policy

We adhere to a strict cancellation and no-show policy. You must cancel your reservation no less than 48 hours prior to 2pm on the day on which you are due to arrive to avoid a cancellation charge. The cancellation charge is the full amount of the accommodation or package rate you have booked for each room booked

Please be aware that by confirming your booking and supplying your credit card details you are accepting our cancellation and no-show Policy.

Child & Extra Adult Policy

All rooms are sold on a twin-share basis unless otherwise stated. There will be extra charges applicable if the number of adults in the room exceeds two. Quoted room prices within the booking site will automatically include the extra adult charges in the total price, providing the guest has input the actual number of adults and children in the booking details form. The Motel reserves the right to charge for additional guests ($30 per person on check-in) if the number of guests staying in the room differs from what is specified in the original booking request.

Up to two children stay for free provided they are 12 years of age or under and are using existing bedding in the room. Children 13 and over will be charged at adult prices.

Pet Policy

Pets are welcome at Punakaiki Beachfront Motels in selected room types. This is subject to prior arrangement and approval by the Motel Manager. A $25 surcharge per pet applies to your total accommodation cost to cover additional room cleaning. Please request this with your booking submission that you wish to bring a pet (including how many pets and the type of animal) and the Motel team will contact you shortly after to confirm arrangements. The cleaning surcharge will be charged in addition to the quoted room cost.

Pets and Pet Owners must adhere to a code of conduct during their stay:

  • Dogs must not be left unaccompanied in the motel room

  • Dogs cannot sleep on the guest bed in the room – a dog bed will be provided for him/her to relax in.

  • Pet waste must be disposed of properly – bags will be provided for you

  • Pets are welcome in the outdoor areas if they are supervised.

  • Punakaiki Beachfront Motels reserves the right to ask guests and their pets to depart in the event the pet is noisy and/or unruly.

  • Punakaiki Beachfront Motels will not be held responsible for pets’ health and safety during their stay, owners must supervise and use suitable restraints when their pet is out of doors whilst on the property.

Group Booking Policy

Bookings of 5 or more rooms, or bookings made by Travel Agents, Wholesale Travel Agents and other third parties will automatically have a group payment and cancellation policy apply:

  • Full payment will be taken 30-days prior to arrival. 30-day cancellation policy applies.

Office Hours

Reception is located at the Punakaiki Rocks Hotel and Gaden Bar (Cnr Owen St & Punakaiki Rd) between 8am and 8pm daily.

Check in time between 2pm and 8pm. Check out time by 10am.

For arrivals after 8pm please contact us to make prior arrangements.
